COMPUTER PEOPLE WILL PAY COMPETITIVELY Head of Standards and Practices wanted for a government client to be based in central London for an initial 6 months to start in September.
The post holder will: ?Define and establish best practice project*programme management processes within the Programme, ensuring they are aligned with best practice and are properly documented and maintained. ?Ensure those processes are subject to ongoing review and improvement. ?Assure that project products are produced in accordance with the agreed processes. ?Encourage and educate project staff to understand the importance of standards and practices and to recognise the benefits resulting from their application. ?Develop and maintain the overall assurance plan for the Programme, in conjunction with the Design and Release Authorities. ?Manage the organisation and performance of quality reviews of projects, focussing on the process aspects and conformance against the project quality plans and project*product lifecycles. ?Manage the coordination of all assurance activities, including quality reviews, design assurance, release assurance and Gateway reviews, in liaison with the Design and Release Authorities. ?Manage the team of SEO assurance*improvement managers and HEO support staff.
Essential skills
?Demonstrate an extensive knowledge of quality assurance*control techniques and standards, and have undertaken formal training. ?Demonstrate the application of that knowledge in developing and managing assurance systems on large, complex projects and programmes over a period of at least 5 years. ?Demonstrate a good working knowledge of PRINCE-2 and programme management techniques. ?Demonstrate extensive experience of the OGC Gateway process, preferably as a reviewer. ?Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate well at all levels and influence Director-level staff. ?Demonstrate the ability to manage and motivate staff in a challenging environment. ?Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
